Hey, I’m Dan—photographer, storyteller, and creative mind behind Meythaler Photography!

Sixteen years ago, I started this journey in a little two-bedroom rental in Des Moines, IA, with my now-wife, Britt. Fast forward to today—we’ve purchased a home and studio in Jefferson, IA, where we renovated a 135-year-old building on the town square into a creative space for capturing incredible moments.

Photography is more than just a job for me—it’s my passion. I specialize in small business branding, senior portraits, families, weddings, and school sports, bringing a mix of professional lighting, creativity, and a personal touch to every session.

But enough about work—here are some fun facts about me!

* I’m a husband to Britt, dad to Cooper & Grayson, and dog dad to our yellow lab, Tucker.

* I love to travel and explore, but home is my favorite place.

* I’m the family cook (but cooking together is even better!).

* I’ve been gaming with the same group of friends for 17 years—when I find time I always try and hang out with them!

* Summer nights around a bonfire with friends? Yes, please!

* We’re big fans of old buildings—our studio is over 135 years old, and our home is pushing 100! When we find time, we restore and bring them back to life.
